Vermillion is a boutique eight-storey development at 280 Northbourne Avenue, Dickson, built by Bloc for Art Group as the latest chapter in the Northbourne precinct. The project offers a wide range of dwellings, from studios to three-bedroom apartments, penthouses and two-storey townhouses, across more than 40 different floorplans. Residents have access to a lush landscaped rooftop garden with barbecue and dining area, communal breakout spaces, a residents' gym and EV charging, with most apartments taking in uninterrupted views to Mt Ainslie and Mt Majura to the east or Black Mountain to the west.
CPS worked with Bloc to pump, place and finish the concrete structure at Vermillion. Our crews delivered the basement levels, ground floor and suspended slabs through all eight storeys, working to a building with more than 40 floorplan types, two-storey townhouses and private rooftop dwellings — a structure where slab layouts, set-downs and edge conditions changed far more often than a typical apartment build.
The landscaped rooftop garden and private penthouse gardens required load-bearing slabs with falls and set-downs suited to planting and waterproofing. Working directly on the Northbourne Avenue corridor beside the light rail, with the completed Art Group buildings occupied alongside, CPS planned pump positions, deliveries and pour windows around live traffic and neighbouring residents to keep the floor cycle running for Bloc.
