Scope of works
Placing Boom Hire
A placing boom stays with the structure floor by floor, taking concrete to the deck without a street-level pump set-up for every pour and without tying up the tower crane. CPS holds twelve units from 32m to 38m, each maintained to manufacturer's schedule.
- Placing booms
- 12 units, 32m – 38m reach
- Configurations
- Static and climbing
- Servicing
- To manufacturer's schedule and WHS plant requirements
Positioning the boom
The reach available from a fixed position governs how much of each floor plate can be placed before the boom has to move. CPS works the boom position against the floor plates, the core and the crane before hire, so the unit supplied covers the structure it is committed to.
Fleet condition
Plant and equipment are serviced and maintained in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications and applicable legislative requirements. Inspection records and boom certification are current and issued to site before installation.
Supply arrangements
Placing booms are hired on their own, or alongside CPS placement and finishing as one contract. Where CPS also places and finishes, the boom and the crew working behind it sit under a single point of responsibility.
Scope
What this covers
- Committed for the life of the structure
- A boom is committed to the job for the duration of the structure, so placement capacity is in place for every deck in the programme rather than booked pour by pour.
- Crane released through the pour
- With the boom on the deck, the tower crane stays free for formwork, reinforcement and materials while concrete is placed.
- Static and climbing configurations
- Booms are set up to suit the structure and its core, and moved up with the building as it rises.
- Compliant plant records
- Current inspection records, boom certification and pre-start documentation are supplied for the client's plant register before the boom is installed.
- Planned before installation
- Boom position and mounting are resolved with the head contractor before the boom arrives, not on the morning of the first pour.
