The Shard is a luxury residential tower at 32 Corinna Street, Phillip, developed by Zapari Group opposite Westfield Woden. The building delivers around 281 residences — one, two and three-bedroom apartments plus penthouses, including double-storey penthouses with spiral staircases and private lift access — above ground floor retail. The architecture features cascading glass that chases the views and captures natural light from sunrise to sunset, with amenity including a concierge, gym, yoga studio, wellness centre, executive lounge, wine cellar, piano bar and a rooftop garden with spa pool.
CPS worked with JWLand Construction to pump, place and finish the concrete structure at The Shard in Woden. Our crews delivered the basement levels, ground floor retail and suspended slabs to the top of the tower, with pumps set up to service the full height and pours coordinated between ground-level operators and placing crews above.
The cascading glass form meant the slab edges stepped and shifted rather than stacking cleanly, requiring accurate setting out floor by floor, while the double-storey penthouses and rooftop garden and spa pool brought voids, set-downs and load-bearing decks that broke the standard cycle. Working on a tight town centre site directly opposite Westfield Woden with live traffic on Corinna Street, CPS planned pump positions, deliveries and pour windows around the surrounding road network and shoppers, delivering the slab quality a five-star residential fit-out demands.
