The Establishment is a residential development in the heart of the Gungahlin Town Centre, built by Geocon in partnership with Empire. Rising to 47 metres, the building delivers 290 apartments along with 936 square metres of commercial space, in an industrial-chic architectural style. Residents' amenities include a rooftop lap pool with spa, outdoor gym, open-air cinema, al fresco dining and barbecue areas, with the light rail terminal, Marketplace Gungahlin and Yerrabi Pond all within walking distance.
CPS worked with Geocon to pump, place and finish the concrete structure at The Establishment. Our crews delivered the basement levels, ground floor commercial and the suspended slabs through the full height of the building, holding a steady floor cycle on a tight town centre site.
The upper-level amenity decks added complexity above the residential floors, with the pool, spa, outdoor gym and open-air cinema areas all requiring load-bearing slabs with the right falls, set-downs and penetrations for waterproofing, plant and landscaping. Working on the corner of Gundaroo Drive and Gozzard Street with live traffic, light rail infrastructure and neighbouring businesses close by, CPS planned pump positions, deliveries and pour windows to keep disruption down while maintaining the program for Geocon.
