Sapphire is a premium waterfront development on the last parcel of land on the Kingston Foreshore, built by Bloc for developer Keggins. The building delivers 76 residential apartments and five commercial spaces, with every home taking in a water view across the harbour, Lake Burley Griffin and the Jerrabomberra wetlands. Designed to complement the unique shape of the peninsula, the development includes private lobbies, a concierge service and interconnected public walkways at ground level.
CPS worked with Bloc to pump, place and finish the concrete structure at Sapphire. Our crews delivered the basement, ground floor commercial tenancies and suspended slabs through the residential levels above, working on a narrow peninsula site with water on three sides. The building’s curved, faceted form meant almost no floor repeated cleanly, so setting out, edge formwork and slab geometry changed level by level and demanded tight coordination with the formwork and structural teams.
The waterfront location added constraints on access, groundwater and concrete durability. CPS’s finishing teams delivered the high-quality slab surfaces required for one of Canberra’s most premium residential fit-outs, supporting Bloc in completing the final building on the Kingston Foreshore.
