Republic is the first stage of Geocon's $1 billion Republic precinct in Belconnen, the largest mixed-use development ever approved in Canberra. Stage 1 comprises the Republic and Dusk towers, delivering 391 premium apartments together with a dining and retail precinct including a supermarket, communal landscaped areas and a rooftop garden for residents. The precinct occupies the corner of Cameron Avenue, Eastern Valley Way and Emu Bank, overlooking Lake Ginninderra, and went on to include the High Society and Nightfall towers in later stages.

CPS worked with Geocon to pump, place and finish the concrete structure across the Republic and Dusk towers, the opening stage of the Republic precinct. Our crews delivered basement, podium retail and suspended slabs through both towers, holding a continuous floor cycle across two buildings rising at once on a fast-tracked program.

The logistics were among the most demanding in Canberra at the time: three main roads, the bus interchange, a college and the adjoining Stage 2 construction site all pressed against the boundary, so pump positions, deliveries and pour windows had to be planned around live traffic, students and an active neighbouring site. CPS’s finishing teams delivered consistent, high-quality slab surfaces across 391 apartments and the retail levels below, and went on to work with Geocon through the later stages of the precinct.
