Kingsborough is a mixed-use village precinct on a 13,000-square-metre site behind the Kingston Foreshore, developed and built by Construction Control. Split over several distinctive blocks, Kingsborough is made up of 280 apartments, terrace homes and warehouse dwellings, with a common area village square, a wide variety of retail tenancies, a gymnasium and pool and shared gardens that tie it all together. Four architects were engaged to design the separate buildings, giving each block its own identity while recognising the industrial history of the area.

CPS worked with Construction Control to pump, place and finish the concrete across the Kingsborough precinct. Our crews delivered basement, ground floor retail and suspended slabs through the Powerhouse, Warehouse, Shophouse, Woolstore and terrace buildings, with several blocks under construction at once and each designed by a different architect.

That variety removed the repetition most multi-residential work relies on: slab geometry, levels, edges and set-downs changed from building to building, and terraces, shophouses and warehouse dwellings each carried their own structural requirements. The village square, pool and landscaped shared gardens added further load-bearing slabs with falls and set-downs for waterproofing and planting. Working within an established inner-south pocket beside the Kingston Foreshore, CPS sequenced pumps, deliveries and pours across the whole site to keep multiple fronts progressing for Construction Control.
