Harris Farm Markets at Majura Park is the retailer's first Canberra store, delivered as a purpose-built base building by Construction Control for Canberra Airport. The base build covers a warm shell tenancy of around 5,000m² with a warehouse facility and loading dock, along with a new road and reworking of the existing carpark and landscaped areas. The completed store opened in May 2024 and sits alongside Costco, Woolworths and Aldi in the Majura Park retail precinct.
CPS worked with Construction Control to pump, place and finish the concrete at the Harris Farm Markets base building at Majura Park. The scope centred on large-area ground slabs for the retail floor, warehouse and loading dock — the kind of work where flatness, levels and surface durability matter most, since a retail slab has to take heavy trolley and forklift traffic and carry the tolerances the fitout depends on.
Slab quality and jointing were planned to suit the finishes and floor coverings going down over them. The site sits within a busy, trading retail precinct beside Canberra Airport, so pump set-ups, deliveries and large pours were scheduled around shoppers, adjacent retailers and precinct traffic, supporting Construction Control in delivering a flagship store on a live commercial site.
