Kashmir is an award-winning residential development in Art Group's SOHO precinct on Northbourne Avenue, Dickson. It contains 141 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. It was built by Core Developments. The development sits beside, and incorporates, heritage-listed 1959 bedsitter flats, among the earliest medium-density housing in Canberra. Kashmir won the 2024 AIA ACT Sydney Ancher Award for multiple housing and the 2024 MBA ACT Excellence Award for high-rise apartments.
Kashmir is one of Canberra’s most celebrated recent residential projects, and CPS is proud to have pumped, placed and finished its concrete for Core Developments. The site was delicate: a heritage-listed building stood in the foreground, a busy light rail corridor ran out front, and two nine-storey buildings rose behind over a shared basement. Every pour had to be planned carefully around access and protection of the heritage fabric.
Our crews delivered the basement, suspended slabs and rooftop levels to programme, providing a precise, high-quality base for the bronze-screened façades and premium interiors that define the building. The project went on to win top honours from both the Australian Institute of Architects and Master Builders ACT, and our team was proud to contribute.
