The John Gorton Campus Car Park is a multi-storey car park adjacent to the heritage-listed John Gorton Building on Kings Avenue, Parkes, delivered by Barpa for the National Capital Authority. The five-storey structure provides more than 1,000 car spaces and includes a childcare centre with capacity for 170 children on the ground level, along with landscape works and upgrades to the Blackall Street and Kings Avenue intersection. It is the first significant construction project in the Parliamentary Triangle in two decades and an enabling project for the future National Security Office Precinct.

CPS worked with Barpa to pump, place and finish the concrete structure at the John Gorton Campus Car Park. Our crews delivered the ground slab and suspended decks across all levels, along with the childcare centre slabs at ground level — large, repetitive pours where speed, flatness and a hard-wearing surface finish are the final product, since carpark decks are trafficked and largely left exposed.

Building within the Parliamentary Triangle, immediately beside a Commonwealth Heritage-listed building and inside the Parliament House Vista, meant working under strict heritage, access and presentation controls, with pump set-ups, deliveries and pour windows planned around the surrounding government precinct and its daily operations. CPS delivered consistent levels and falls to drainage across more than 1,000 spaces, supporting Barpa on a landmark project for the national capital.
