- Tallest towers in Canberra at time of construction
High Society is the second stage of Geocon's Republic precinct in Belconnen and stands unchallenged as the tallest residential tower in Canberra, with twin 27-storey towers rising 113m and 100m. The development delivers 541 apartments and 4,500sqm of commercial space, along with a hotel, supermarket, rooftop observation deck, pool, cinema, wellness centre and wine cellar. It sits on a 1.6-hectare site bounded by Cameron Avenue, Emu Bank and Eastern Valley Way, within a precinct built around a public square and laneway network.
CPS worked with Geocon on the concrete pumping, placement and finishing at High Society — the tallest residential building in Canberra. Our crews delivered the basement levels, podium and suspended slabs to the top of both towers, with tower pumps set up to reach 27 storeys and pours coordinated between ground-level operators and the placing teams high above.
Two towers rising side by side on a fast-tracked program meant holding a tight, continuous floor cycle with crews working multiple fronts at once, on a constrained town centre site surrounded by live roads and neighbouring businesses. CPS’s finishing teams delivered consistent, high-quality slab surfaces across 541 apartments and the commercial levels below, supporting Geocon in completing the centrepiece of the Republic precinct.
