Grand Central Towers is one of the biggest developments in Woden, a joint venture by Geocon and Zapari providing a total of 430 residential apartments and 11 commercial spaces across twin towers of 26 and 18 storeys. Taking its inspiration from New York's Grand Central Station, the development includes ground floor retail, an infinity pool, observation decks, gym, lounge, library and rooftop retreat, and stands as a landmark in the revitalised Woden Town Centre.
CPS delivered the concrete pumping and placement for Grand Central Towers — at the time one of the tallest and most demanding structures the business had worked on. Tower pumps were supplied and installed within the core of each building, reaching the height of the 26-storey tower and the second 18-storey tower, with the operator at ground level in constant communication with the crews placing on the upper slabs.
CPS held a continuous floor cycle across two towers rising simultaneously in a live town centre. Our finishing crews delivered consistent slab surfaces across 430 apartments and 11 commercial tenancies, supporting Geocon and Zapari in completing a landmark project for Canberra’s south.
