Founders Lane is a mixed-use precinct by JWLand on the edge between the Canberra CBD and Braddon, revitalising an underused corner of the city. Stages 1 & 2 of the project involved the delivery of 333 apartments spread over 11 floors with three levels of basement parking and commercial tenancies on ground floor, comprising The Mark (194 apartments over eleven levels) and Provenance (139 apartments over six levels). The two buildings link through landscaped courtyards and pedestrian laneways, forming the first half of a precinct that now houses 781 apartments.
CPS worked with JWLand on Stages 1 and 2 of Founders Lane, pumping, placing and finishing the concrete structure across both The Mark and Provenance. Our crews delivered three levels of basement, the ground floor commercial tenancies and the suspended residential floors above, including post-tensioned slabs, holding a steady floor cycle on two buildings running in parallel.
The site sits on a tight city-edge block with live traffic on multiple frontages and established trees retained through the precinct, so pump set-ups, truck access and pour timing were planned around them. CPS’s finishing teams delivered the flat, consistent slab surfaces required across 333 apartments and the ground floor tenancies, supporting JWLand in delivering the first half of one of Canberra’s largest inner-city precincts.
