DKSN is a mixed-use urban renewal precinct on the light rail corridor in Dickson, built by Bloc on the site of the former Dickson Motor Registry. DKSN signals the rebirth of Dickson with meticulously designed one, two and three bedroom apartments, restaurants and retail, and a state-of-the-art office building, with three new buildings anchoring a network of share ways, pedestrian lanes and a civic plaza. The completed precinct delivers more than 300 apartments, a 13,200sqm ACT Government office building, a supermarket, childcare, medical centre, gym and an "eat street" of restaurants and cafes, all within walking distance of the Dickson interchange.
CPS worked with Bloc to pump, place and finish the concrete across the DKSN precinct — one of Canberra’s largest inner-north urban renewal projects. Our crews delivered basement, podium and suspended slabs through multiple buildings of residential, commercial and retail structure, keeping several fronts moving at once as the precinct was built out in stages.
The site sits directly on the light rail corridor beside the Dickson interchange and an established shopping centre, so pump set-ups, concrete deliveries and pour windows were planned around live transport, traffic and pedestrian movement. CPS’s finishing teams delivered high-quality slab surfaces across apartments, offices and retail tenancies, supporting Bloc in transforming a former motor registry site into a fully activated precinct.
